New Appointment Strengthens the Sales Team at J & J Siddons

Geoff Hume has joined the team at J & J Siddons, bringing a wealth of experience and knowledge of the casting industry to our Sales team.

Geoff began his carreer working in the foundry industry as a technician with George Blair & Co in Newcastle on Tyne in 1970, completing the four-year Foundry and Patternshop Technicians Course at Gateshead Technical College.

The skills learned as a Methods Engineer at Blair and other foundries were put to good use in a successful career in Sales. From 1995 to 2014 Geoff held the position of Sales Director at machinist in Stoke on Trent , not only selling the company’s subcontract machining services, but sourcing in excess of £1 million of castings with foundries domestically and in mainland Europe. Over the years there have been several occasions where Geoff’s broad understanding of the industry and its capabilities have successfully resulted in converting fabrications to castings to improve quality and cost, hopefully there may still be a few more….
